I am happy to announce that Mead & Hunt has been honored with the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) Wisconsin Above and Beyond Award. This award serves to honor employers who go above and beyond in serving ESGR’s mission.
ESGR is a Department of Defense program that develops and promotes supportive work environments for service members through outreach, recognition, and educational opportunities. This allows them to promote awareness to employees and employers on Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act (USERRA) and other military-related functions. The organization is also involved in pre-deployment and post-deployment guidance to military members and civilian side employers.
Ultimately, ESGR’s goal is for all employers to support and value members of the National Guard and Reserve, thus increasing the readiness of the Reserve Components. This in turn enhances the security of our communities and our nation.
Nominations for this award are submitted by Guard or Reserve members. Rob Vernon, a Civil Engineer serving Mead & Hunt’s Aviation group, nominated our firm with the help of coworkers Kristen Berney and Jeff Leonard. Rob chose to nominate Mead & Hunt due to our continued support of his military duties and the ease from stress that they provided while he was working in other states, all while still providing him with the ability to fulfill military requirements. Mead & Hunt was also instrumental in providing smooth transitions from being an active military member to returning to the civilian workforce.
Anyone who has made this transition knows it is no easy task. That is why programs like ESGR are instrumental to the continued success of our National Guard and Reserve members.
