At the end of last year, we signed on and committed to the Structural Engineers 2050 (SE 2050) Commitment Program, an initiative that aims to achieve net-zero embodied carbon in structural systems by 2050. Our commitment includes annually reporting an Embodied Carbon Action Plan (ECAP). With our 2024 ECAP now submitted, we aim to lead transformative change in the industry by focusing on environmental responsibility, particularly in carbon and water-use reduction.
Mead & Hunt is committed to ethical engineering and making a positive impact on communities, a principle established by founder Daniel Mead nearly 125 years ago. Recognizing the built environment’s role in climate change, we are dedicated to reducing carbon emissions to lessen the impact of our corporate offices and our project work. We continually evaluate our actions against our core purpose of putting people first and creating responsible solutions.
