With roots tracing back to 1900, Mead & Hunt continues to shape the future by putting people first. At the 2023 AAAE Annual Conference, Mead & Hunt debuted a successful campaign to support Aero Angel, a non-profit organization helping to provide air transportation for ill children. With the 2024 AAAE Annual Conference being held in Nashville this year, Mead & Hunt is supporting Nashville-based Operation Song, an organization with a mission to empower veterans, active-duty military members, and their families to tell their stories through the process of songwriting. Since 2012, Operation Song has teamed up with professional songwriters to work together with veterans to help them express their stories through music as a profound form of therapy. This has led to more than 1,600 songs written and 2,280 veterans and their families served at no cost to them.
Mead & Hunt is thrilled to support Operation Song’s mission by providing three of our veteran clients with the songwriting experience. Each veteran has been paired with a songwriter who, after meeting one-on-one to listen to the veteran’s experiences, are currently writing and recording them each their very own song to commemorate their stories.
We will also host a special Writers Round Table session at our AAAE client event. Operation Song songwriters will individually introduce their veteran and their song, then perform the song live on stage. We hope this memorable evening will serve as a time for our staff and clients to reflect on our time together in Nashville and thank the veterans in attendance for their brave acts of service.
As an employee-owned architectural, engineering, planning, and construction services firm, Mead & Hunt looks to embrace innovation and build a strong company for future generations. We are proud to have a Veterans-Military Interest Group as part of our Employee Resource Group (ERG) program for our employees. Mead & Hunt will be donating $10,000 to Operation Song to continue to show our support for our active-duty and veteran employees and family members. We hope our people, industry, and projects continue to grow within the diverse communities in which we work and live.
