Congratulations to Amy Post, Civil & Hydrodynamics Department Manager for Mead & Hunt’s One Water Team, on being named a 2026 Women in Construction honoree as Engineer of the Year. We are proud to celebrate this well-deserved recognition and the impact Amy has made throughout her career.
For Amy, engineering started with a simple question: how do people interact with the environment around them, and how can engineering improve that relationship? More than 20 years later, that same curiosity still guides her career.
Anyone who has worked with Amy knows she likes to understand how things work. Whether exploring how wastewater and stormwater systems respond to changing conditions or helping a client work through a complex infrastructure challenge, she is always asking questions, looking for connections, and searching for practical ways forward. Her work guides communities in making informed decisions and investments that will serve them well for years to come.
Amy’s considerate approach carries into her relationships with coworkers. She consistently supports her colleagues by sharing knowledge and answering questions to help solve water challenges. She has a way of making people feel comfortable asking questions while giving them room to learn along the way.
Outside the office, Amy looks for similar opportunities to make a positive impact. For more than a decade, she has supported educational programs through professional organizations, bringing engineers and operators together to share ideas and learn from each other. Recently, she organized a volunteer day at Milwaukee’s Urban Ecology Center, where team members removed invasive plant species and supported native habitat growth.
Amy consistently reflects a people-first mindset. Whether mentoring a colleague, supporting her community, or tackling a complex engineering problem, she brings a thoughtful mindset to everything she does.
Through her actions, she shows that impact isn’t measured by visibility, but by the lasting difference she makes in the lives of others.
