We are happy to announce that Mead & Hunt has signed on and committed to the Structural Engineers 2050 (SE 2050) Commitment Program, an initiative that aims to achieve net-zero embodied carbon in structural systems by 2050. This is a significant step toward sustainability for our firm. By addressing embodied carbon, from materials used in structural elements, Mead & Hunt is not only focusing on operational efficiency but also on the entire lifecycle impact of our projects.
Our commitment to SE 2050 includes annually reporting an Embodied Carbon Action Plan (ECAP) and submitting data to the SE 2050 project database. This data is compiled and analyzed in an effort to understand embodied carbon trends in structural engineering projects, allowing attainable goals to be set.
At Mead & Hunt, we believe in taking care of our communities and putting people first. Our commitment to supporting and collaborating with our clients to reduce and eliminate embodied carbon in the design and construction of projects demonstrates our dedication to these values. We are proud to contribute to a more sustainable future.
