We are excited to share that our Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF) Facility and Snow Removal Equipment (SRE) Facility Project has won an Excellence in Construction Award from Minnesota/North Dakota Associated Builders and Contractors! This award recognizes outstanding construction projects, and we’re honored that this project has been awarded. Brainerd Lakes Regional Airport was in need of a new building to house and support emergency fire, rescue, and medical response services along with snow removal equipment operations for the airport.
Our team was able to strategically and successfully combine these two operational services into one building to reduce the construction footprint and optimize efficiency. Sustainable design elements were also incorporated, including the integration of geothermal, photovoltaic, and rainwater harvesting systems, which reduce operational costs. Technology featured in the facility includes an integrated system in the ARFF, which provides audible and visual notifications throughout the interior and airside exterior of the building. This inclusion enhances safety and firefighting response times.
