The terminal building at Brainerd Lakes Regional Airport (BRD) needed to be renovated and expanded to handle increased general aviation (GA) traffic. Our engineers and architects provided design services for both the renovation and expansion. The new GA terminal building accounts for local utility connections and airfield accessibility to meet public needs. We reconfigured the site to allow passenger pickups and drop-offs and added a walkway to allow access to the building. Our team also renovated the public restrooms, lobby area, mechanical and electrical rooms, flight planning and weather information area, and a supply storage room, among others. We designed the facility to meet Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) recommendations. The new facility uses space more efficiently and provides for future expansion.
