The new Sesquicentennial Hall on the University of Wisconsin – Platteville campus offers instructional and research lab spaces. The hall also provides the space needed to consolidate most of the University’s engineering programs, bringing them under one roof.Â
The building was designed as a “learning tool” in itself to inspire bright young minds, incorporating exposed structural and mechanical systems doubling as an engaging, hands-on experience for students.Â
Mead & Hunt provided commissioning services to support the LEED certification effort. We supported this project from the early design phases through construction.Â
Our team commissioned the following systems:Â
- Building enclosureÂ
- Campus chilled waterÂ
- Process chilled waterÂ
- Steam distribution convertersÂ
- Hot water distributionÂ
- Variable volume air handling units with energy recoveryÂ
- Hydronic hot water air terminal units Â
- Laboratory exhaustÂ
- Plate and frame heat exchangersÂ
- Daylight harvestingÂ
- Emergency power generators and associated transfer switches
