Ada County Courthouse needed a replacement of their existing Access Control System (ACS) and Video Management Systems (VMS) to a new unified ACS/VMS platform. Mead & Hunt planned and designed the new platform, which then became the standard for all county facilities. The system has been extended to two other facilities and is planned to eventually be extended to all county facilities. The new platform provides a unified situational management platform, unified identity and credential management, ease of training across departments, and the ability to push facility monitoring to an emergency command center during a crisis.
The initial project included five floors (80+ doors, 100+ cameras), an adjacent building, elevator controls and personal duress buttons. The system was designed to be updated without interruption to daily court security activities.
