Sesquicentennial Hall

The new Sesquicentennial Hall on the University of Wisconsin-Platteville campus offers instructional and research lab spaces. The hall also provides the space needed to consolidate most of the University’s engineering programs, bringing them under one roof. 

The building was designed as a “learning tool” in itself to inspire bright young minds, incorporating exposed structural and mechanical systems doubling as an engaging, hands-on experience for students. 

Mead & Hunt provided commissioning services to support the LEED certification effort. We supported this project from the early design phases through construction. 

Our team commissioned the following systems: 

• Building enclosure 
• Campus chilled water 
• Process chilled water 
• Steam distribution converters 
• Hot water distribution 
• Variable volume air handling units with energy recovery 
• Hydronic hot water air terminal units  
• Laboratory exhaust 
• Plate and frame heat exchangers 
• Daylight harvesting 
• Emergency power generators and associated transfer switches
