John Rathke was recently named the 2024-2025 Chair-Elect and 2025-2026 Chair of the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC). As Chair-Elect/Chair, John will continue to provide leadership to ACEC and professional engineering firms, collaborating with other members to develop strategies that promote the interests of the industry. He looks forward to continuing work with ACEC leaders to strengthen and position the organization as thought leaders in the industry. His values and actions coincide with those of ACEC, having always emphasized identifying and preparing the next leaders in engineering.

John serves as the Midwest Transportation Business Unit Leader and is a Principal and Vice President for Mead & Hunt, providing strategic and operational leadership, business development, mentoring, and career development for staff. He has been with the firm since 1992 and has over 34 years of experience in the industry.
John has been an active member of ACEC serving as Vice Chair on the ACEC Executive Committee and serving on the Planning Cabinet from 2021 to 2023. John was previously inducted into the College of Fellows in 2019, and he is active on ACEC’s Transportation Committee and Risk Management Committee. Additionally, he has served as National Director and ACEC Wisconsin Chair-Elect, Chairman of the Board, and Nominating Committee Chair.
