This custom ingredient manufacturer needed to construct and install a new anaerobic membrane (AnMBR) system to more efficiently and cost-effectively treat its wastewater. Mead & Hunt engaged our fabrication team to create custom components for the AnMBR process and wastewater system modifications. Our team prefabricated the necessary systems including pump skids, ultra-filtration membrane skids, chemical feed systems, CIP system, and a closed loop gas-fired boiler heating system. The design, fabrication, and seamless installation of these components reduced construction costs and risk while improving quality control through pre-shipment product verification and testing. The prefabricated components were installed on-site creating a compact footprint. The new AnMBR system treats 20,000 lbs/day of chemical oxygen demand, providing 32% more capacity, which allowed the client to see operational savings of more than $500,000 per year.
