This RNG project developer and operator needed a turnkey engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) firm to deliver a landfill gas-to-renewable natural gas (RNG) facility adjacent to the Indian River County Landfill. We fast-tracked project preparations for subcontractor selection, established U.S. structural steel material commitments, and provided pipe support fabrication for Nopetro to obtain the maximum tax credits under the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA). For biogas treatment, a two-stage pressure swing adsorption (PSA) system had a low capital cost but a lower methane recovery, so we developed a membrane PSA solution capable of handling the high, fluctuating nitrogen levels at the wellfield. This facility will produce 1,000 SCFM of pipeline-quality RNG. This project is estimated to prevent the equivalent of 30,000 metric tons of carbon dioxide emissions annually, which is equivalent to eliminating emissions from 4,300 passenger cars.
