This soap making facility handled large volumes of raw materials derived form coconut oil and palm oil. As a result, its process wastewater stream was high in fats, oils, and grease (FOG). It needed to replace its wastewater pretreatment system with one capable of meeting current and future expected discharge limits. Our team evaluated the plant’s wastewater treatment capacity and flows, and developed a new wastewater pretreatment system. We provided full turnkey services, working closely with the manufacturer to design and install the replacement system. The new system employs dissolved air flotation (DAF), an oil and water separator, and equalization to meet requirements for removal of FOG, non-soluble biological oxygen demand (BOD), total suspended solids (TSS), and particulate chemical oxygen demand (COD). We procured equipment to expedite the critical path schedule and managed construction for a smooth start-up.
