Mead & Hunt has collaborated with San Antonio International Airport’s Air Service Task Force on numerous initiatives, including updates on individual air carrier strategies, relevant industry trends, incentive proposals, and peer airport benchmarking. Recent efforts include a True Visitation Study and Demand Analyzer, using innovative GPS location-based data to identify and monitor passenger demand recovery. Attendance at airline headquarters meetings and support at industry conferences throughout the year have kept SAT top of mind with airlines around the globe.
SAT has welcomed new carriers to the market–Condor, JetBlue Airways, Spirit Airlines, Sun Country Airlines, and Viva Aerobus. These efforts have led to significant air service successes with service throughout Caribbean, Mexico, United States, and Germany.
September 2023 brought the historic announcement of SAT’s first trans-Atlantic non-stop flight. Condor Airlines commenced service to Frankfurt, Germany, in May 2024. This service is the result of a multi-year effort, involving compelling analysis and uniting key stakeholders, and is expected to bring significant economic impact to the city and the greater region.
