This national food manufacturer planned to expand an existing product line for their portfolio. With a higher demand for smaller pizzas in the market, they needed to replace their old process with new equipment to assemble single-serve 5” frozen pizzas.
Mead & Hunt’s engineers determined the rate of production and specific equipment required to produce this new product. Redesigning the process with enhanced functionality and improving controls created a more intuitive interface for easier operation.
Our EPC team partnered with vendors to procure equipment and managed on-site installation to allow a smooth transition to the new product line. The facility also needed to refurbish several critical components, so our team worked with the original manufacturer to repair damaged parts for optimum efficiency and cost savings.
The client had their single-serve pizza line up and running ahead of schedule, with the new and refurbished equipment successfully integrated to meet the client’s productivity goals. Dividing the project into Phase 1 and Phase 2 allowed for a seamless implementation of a new manufacturing process and equipment installation that minimized production downtime.
