The Ohio Department of Transportation invests more than $100 million annually into roadway safety improvements at high-crash and severe crash locations statewide.
As part of three separate statewide safety design contracts, our traffic and roadway engineers designed improvements at 31 locations. These projects encompassed various design types, including interchange modifications, roundabouts, turn lanes, traffic signals, horizontal and vertical roadway realignments and other miscellaneous safety upgrades.
Ohio’s highway safety improvement program has led to a significant drop in fatalities and serious injuries.
