Dodge Correction Institute (DCI) is the central reception facility for the State of Wisconsin Corrections. Due to increasing volume, they needed a 1,500-square-foot vehicle sallyport addition and a 7,000-square-foot renovation to their central reception intake. Mead & Hunt provided design and construction administration services and phased the project in such a way to maintain all intake operations during construction. The team worked closely with DOC staff to identify issues with the existing facility and proposed a solution that would increase efficiency and handle increased inmate processing within the renovated facility. The renovation also brought the institution into compliance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). The nearly $1.6 million building better serves the needs of the entire system.
