Mead & Hunt’s Minneapolis Aviation Team was recently recognized for its outstanding work on two separate projects at the 2022 Minnesota Council of Airports (MCOA) Annual Conference. These awards honor projects that enhance efficiency, safety, or airport facilities and further the growth and development of aviation in Minnesota.
The Large General Aviation Project of the Year award was presented to the Detroit Lakes Airport for the complex, multi-year phased redevelopment of its entire airfield. There were many supporting the effort as the Mead & Hunt team helped guide the airport through planning and environmental efforts prior to launching into design and construction.

The Commercial Service Airport Project of the Year award was presented to the Rochester International Airport for the completion of the first phase of its secondary runway reconstruction and expansion program last year. The Mead & Hunt team supported the airport from Master Planning, through environmental, and into design and construction administration over the last five years.
These awards speak to the adaptability, innovation, and resiliency of the Mead & Hunt Aviation Team, the Rochester International Airport, and Detroit Lakes Airport as they work to continually improve Minnesota aviation for the future. Mead & Hunt is proud to have aided both these airports with their efforts. Congratulations to all involved!
