ABOUT THE PROJECT
BHM intends to undertake a project to realign, reconstruct, and widen parallel Taxiway A and associated connector taxiways; strengthen a portion of Taxiway A and its connectors, relocate or encapsulate approximately 3,200 linear feet of Village Creek; relocate portions of the vehicle service roads; and realign existing utilities. The project includes wetland impacts of up to 0.67 acre. The purpose of the proposed project is to enhance the airfield’s ability to accommodate the increasing demand for both passenger and cargo aircraft operations in a safe and efficient manner by addressing the non-standard runway to taxiway separation located on the southwest portion of Runway 6-24 and Taxiway A.
