Intersection Safety Improvements on Ohio Highways

The Ohio Department of Transportation invests more than $158 million annually into roadway safety improvements at high-crash and severe crash locations statewide.

As part of nine separate statewide safety design contracts, our traffic and roadway engineers designed improvements at 48 locations. These projects encompassed various design types, including interchange modifications, roundabouts, turn lanes, traffic signals, horizontal and vertical roadway realignments and other miscellaneous safety upgrades.
