We are excited to share that Venkat Nallamothu has joined Mead & Hunt as a Federal Market Lead on our Transportation team. Venkat brings over 18 years of engineering and managing experience, specifically in research, planning, design, and deployment of transportation safety and mobility solutions. His expertise includes Transportation Systems Management & Operations (TSMO), Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), and emerging mobility technologies, making him invaluable to our team.
Venkat has worked directly with state departments of transportation (DOTs) and the U.S. Department of Transportation, having served as a program manager with the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO). As staff liaison to the AASHTO Committee on Transportation System Operations, he coordinated multiple mobility and safety initiatives on behalf of state DOTs in collaboration with various federal agencies. Venkat also managed indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contracts focusing on transportation work force training, as well as task orders related to safety and operations for the Federal Highway Administration and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. This experience provides a unique perspective to help build and foster strong client relationships.
Venkat currently serves as a Vice Chair on the Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE) TSMO Council, is a member of the Transportation Research Board’s Standing Committee on Freeway Operations and serves on multiple research oversight panels with the National Cooperative Highway Research Program. Earlier this year, Venkat championed the inclusion of “Artificial Intelligence in Transportation” as one of ITE’s three key “Developing Trends”. His article on the evolution of AI use in transportation over the years and the implications of generative AI tools to the professional community was published in the May edition of the ITE Journal.
“I am beyond thrilled to be joining the talented Traffic Engineering and Advanced Mobility team at Mead & Hunt,” he says. Venkat called this “a bit of a homecoming,” as he rejoined a team who he’d worked with at Sabra & Associates, which Mead & Hunt acquired in 2019.
We are thrilled to welcome Venkat to our team, and we look forward to seeing what we will accomplish together.
