Mead & Hunt prepared Port Orange’s Utility Master Plan and all hydraulic modeling for the water, reclaimed water and force main systems, which identified the need for a regional pump station west of I-95. To meet these needs, Mead & Hunt provided planning assistance and hydraulic modeling services for the Williamson Boulevard Lift Station. The service area includes many large developments, and the build-out population served is 18,500 with a peak flow of 3,000 gallons per minute (gpm). All flow from the region is conveyed via a 16-inch force main to the ‘re-pump’ station, also known as the Williamson Boulevard Regional Pump Station. The station has three 500-gpm pumps with Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs). In addition, the pump station has a 30,000-gallon wet well, emergency power, odor control and automatic bypass valves. A pre-cast, climate controlled building encloses the VFDs and controls.
