Vance AFB Repair Center Runway

Vance Air Force Base needed to repair Runway 17C/35C to rectify some deficiencies and existing waivers in accordance with the most recent Sustainment, Restoration, and Modernization (SRM) requirements. Mead & Hunt is providing civil and electrical engineering services to repair the Center Runway and connecting Taxiway C. After conducting a design charette, a kickoff meeting and visiting the site, our team facilitated and conducted a Value Engineering (VE) study. Using the information gathered during these stages, Mead & Hunt began design work, which included demolition of the existing runway, taxiway, shoulders, and overruns. We accelerated the schedule to limit runway closure.
