Under an ongoing on-call engineering consulting contract with the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) at Grand Canyon National Park Airport (GCN), Mead & Hunt has successfully delivered high-profile capital improvement projects. These have included Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)- and ADOT-funded projects, such as the Runway 3-21 Rehabilitation and the Taxiway P and Apron Rehabilitation projects, both completed in 2025.
As part of this on-call contract, Mead & Hunt has provided comprehensive planning, engineering, safety, and coordination services, including Airport Capital Improvement Program development, pavement evaluations, airfield signage and marking updates, and participation in Safety Risk Management panels and Runway Safety Action Team meetings. Our team has also coordinated with the FAA and airport staff on Part 139 inspections, conducted public outreach for airfield projects, and maintained ongoing coordination with the Air Traffic Control Tower and FAA Phoenix Airports District Office.
