The 144th Fighter Wing and Fighter Squadron of the Fresno Air National Guard Base planned to improve facilities for training and mission preparedness. Our military experts designed a 23,300-square-foot squadron operations facility to LEED Gold standards. The beautiful new building features classified areas and multiple complex design elements, such as flexible administration and office areas, a sensitive compartmented information facility, and anti-terrorism / force protection requirements.
Our design team assembled the project book, which defined the wide ranging facility requirements, developed five different architectural schemes, assembled construction bidding documents, detailed construction cost estimates for each of the five client submittals, and worked closely with the various base authorities. We used 3D BIM to support the aggressive design schedule. The completed facility fulfills a variety of functions including flight planning, weather, dispatch, open and private office space, and secret internet protocol router network storage. Our team delivered the project to the client on time and within budget.
