This award-winning project involved a 17-foot-diameter, 1,260-foot-long diversion tunnel predominantly lined with concrete at Broken Bow Dam. The tunnel was redesigned and modified to incorporate a gate tower so it can be used as a low-level outlet facility (LLOF). The LLOF has a gate tower with two service gates and two emergency gates.
Mead & Hunt conducted a complex investigation and analysis of the geological, structural, electrical and mechanical components; overall structure condition; and the stability, potential use and safety of various conditions at the tunnel. We provided a report containing findings that will help the Government decide the best path forward.
