I am excited to announce that John Paul “JP” Minear, AIA, NCARB, CM (AAAE), has joined Mead & Hunt as a Senior Aviation Project Manager. JP comes to us with extensive experience in project design, project management, business development, and strategic planning in the architecture and aviation industries, having worked in several architectural and design positions. Most notably, JP previously worked within the Wayne County Airport Authority (DTW) for over eight years. Having served as DTW’s airport planner, facilities alterations group leader, and ADA/Title VI coordinator, he brings valuable knowledge regarding design, planning, and ADA compliance, which is essential for the projects we take on.
At Mead & Hunt, developing strong relationships with our clients and communities is crucial. While serving on the client side at DTW, JP worked closely with numerous consultant teams coordinating planning, design, and construction work. His unique perspective on the relationship between architect and client that will be invaluable for our team. We also strive to expand when and where it makes sense, and JP’s location in Michigan broadens Mead & Hunt’s architectural reach to the east.
JP has also been involved in additional architectural activities. Some activities include serving as an adjunct professor at Lawrence Technological University, being a guest juror for the College of Architecture and Urban Planning at University of Michigan, and participating in the Michigan Vietnam Memorial and Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Competitions.
JP is dedicated to providing clients with quality work, which is evident in the recognition he has earned within the industry. JP has received numerous awards in his career and for his work, including the AIA Michigan Young Architect of the Year Award (2006), Outstanding Building for the University of Michigan Hutchins Hall Law School Classroom Renovation Issued by American School and University (2009), Michigan Interior Design Excellence Award – IIDA for the Hubbard Hall Renovation at Michigan State University (2011). I know he will provide this same level of dedication and professionalism here at Mead & Hunt.
Again, I am proud to welcome JP to Mead & Hunt, and I am excited to see what we can accomplish as a team.
