We are excited to announce that the Watertown Regional Airport (ATY) Terminal Project won a 2023 South Dakota American Institute of Architects (AIA) Honor Award, the top design award. The Mead & Hunt team worked with South Dakota firms CO-OP Architecture and Helms & Associates on this much-needed new terminal project. Our team established the design concept, secured AIP Supplemental Funding, and managed this project to the finish line.
The South Dakota AIA awards serve to honor projects that elevate South Dakota communities through exceptional design. The terminal project modernizes Watertown Regional Airport to meet expanding travel needs. The project included designing a new 26,000-square-foot terminal offering streamlined security, contemporary airy circulation, fresh check-in and car rental counters, and improved amenities.
