The southeast area of Augusta Regional Airport was identified as a strategic location for additional apron, taxiway, and hangar space to support future business development and increase airport revenue. To initiate this expansion, the construction of Taxiway G and Apron G was proposed.
Our team managed stormwater improvements, demolition of approximately 2,300 square yards of runway shoulder, and construction of nearly 49,000 square yards of concrete pavement. This included over 2,000 linear feet of new parallel taxiway, two connector taxiways, and updated electrical systems and pavement markings.
Despite additional work requested by the Owner beyond the initial contract, the project was successfully completed with a final cost of $12.95 million. Funding was provided through Georgia DOT Transportation Investment Act (TIA) and Airport Enterprise funds, paving the way for future hangar development and increased airport capacity.
