To allow for comparable levels of patient care and services, the Sand Ridge Secure Treatment Center needed to upgrade their structured cable and outside plant fiber. The upgrade supports increased data transmission rates and increased capacity at the Center complex. Mead & Hunt provided the design and construction administration, which included the installation of single mode fiber-optic cable between buildings to create a redundant fiber-optic cable pathway around the entire campus. The upgraded horizontal copper cabling supports high speed data transmission, and additional telecommunications cabling is now able to support required applications including video surveillance, telephone, paging, intercom, fire alarm, digital radio, security controls, and electronic health records systems.
