Every day, over 30,000 riders rely on Madison Metro Transit (MMT). MMT is a proven support network for the local community, providing over 13 million rides annually. With no significant updates to the facility since its construction 40 years ago, nearly all components and workflows are past their useful life. Mead & Hunt worked collaboratively with stakeholders to develop a concept plan and capital investment strategy for this facility. Through employee surveys, public listening sessions and stakeholder workshops, the design team developed a phased plan to increase staff safety, enhance operational efficiencies and serve as a lasting community investment. The resulting plan included renovations and small additions for the 265,000-square-foot facility, with nearly $55 million of investments spread over four phases of work.
