Mead & Hunt has named Justin Kise as its new One Water Group Leader. With a career spanning both the engineering and construction sectors, Justin offers a well-rounded perspective that emphasizes collaboration and practicality. His experience across these industries has shaped his ability to lead integrated teams and deliver high-quality, efficient water solutions.
“Justin has a talent for bringing people together around a shared purpose, which is exactly what we need as we tackle the complex challenges in the water industry,” said Amy Squitieri, Chief Operating Officer and CEO-elect at Mead & Hunt. “He’s stepping into this role with a strong, experienced team behind him, and I’m confident his leadership will help us grow thoughtfully and deliver integrated solutions that protect this vital resource. I’m excited to see how he helps shape a resilient and forward-thinking water practice that truly serves our clients and communities.
Since joining Mead & Hunt’s Tampa office in 2022, Justin has played a key role in expanding the firm’s water practice across the Southeast. Building on a strong foundation, our water team has more than doubled in Florida, with the Tampa office growing four-fold. This growth has also included geographic expansion with offices opening in Orlando and Fort Myers. Now, as the One Water Group Leader, Justin is setting his sights on national growth, aiming to extend the team’s reach to regions where rapid population growth is driving critical water infrastructure needs.
Pat Carnahan, retiring from his role as One Water Group Leader, shared his confidence in Justin’s leadership, “Justin has already played a pivotal role in further establishing our presence in the Southeast. I’m confident he’ll bring that same momentum to this national role, continuing to grow the talent and impact of our strong water team.”
Justin’s leadership is grounded in the belief that protecting our water resources requires a unified, collaborative approach. He champions a “team of teams” model, bringing together Mead & Hunt’s experts from across disciplines, geographies, and specialties to share knowledge, align goals, and work as one. This structure fosters open communication and cross-functional collaboration, enabling teams to respond quickly and effectively to complex water challenges while staying focused on the broader mission of sustainable water stewardship.
“I’ve spent all of my life on or around water, whether fishing, boating, or skiing,” Justin notes. “That is why I’m passionate about protecting this essential resource. Leading this team is about bringing people together to provide clean, accessible water so we can make a lasting impact on our water future.”
