ITE is hosting a webinar on Leading Pedestrian Intervals (LPIs) on April 4. An LPI, or pedestrian head start, is typically described as 3-7 seconds of advance time for pedestrians to begin walking before traffic can begin moving, enabling pedestrians to be more visible to conflicting turning movements. Brandon Song will co-present with Zhibo Zhang of the District Department of Transportation about DC’s LPI policy and implementation strategies.
