2025 Food & Beverage Environmental Conference (FBEC)

Project Case Study: Digester Improvements: Upflow Anaerobic Sludge Blanket (UASB) Conversion to Continuous Stirred Tank Reactor (CSTR) for Efficient Treatment of Dairy Wastewater

Jeff VanVoorhis, Vice President of EPC Project Development, and Annie Weidert, One Water Engineering Supervisor, will present the poster “Project Case Study: Digester Improvements: Upflow Anaerobic Sludge Blanket (UASB) Conversion to Continuous Stirred Tank Reactor (CSTR) for Efficient Treatment of Dairy Wastewater” at the Food & Beverage Environmental Conference (FBEC). Find Annie and Jeff during the poster sessions and social hours to discuss Mead & Hunt’s innovative wastewater digester project. For this project, Mead & Hunt modified two under-performing existing upflow anaerobic sludge blanket (UASB) digesters and upgraded to a continuous stirred tank reactor (CSTR) with an equalization tank (EQ) tank. Stop by and chat with Annie and Jeff to learn how our team designed a new wastewater digester for a food & beverage producer that not only meets but exceeds their environmental goals. This innovative single digester is now achieving what previously required two. Additionally, Mead & Hunt is proud to sponsor the 2025 FBEC.
