From Concept to Operation – City of Waterford Ten Club Park
Presented by Mark Sauer, AICP and Paul Willis, PE | May 1, 9:20 a.m.
Mark Sauer, AICP and Paul Willis, PE will present “From Concept to Operation – City of Waterford Ten Club Park” on Thursday, May 1 from 9:20-9:45 a.m. at the conference. The Ten Club Park, designed by Mead & Hunt in partnership with the Village of Waterford, exemplifies the ability to create an innovative, community-centric park space. This six-acre park transformed blighted residential lots into a vibrant, four-season community space centered around a unique water feature that mimics the natural flow of the Fox River. The park includes a play stream, a beer garden that converts to a skating rink, and various amenities such as a fire pit, a half-mile trail, swing benches, shelter, and a formal lawn for events. The sustainable design, which incorporates bioswales to manage and filter water used in the play stream, underscores the project’s dedication to environmental stewardship while enhancing opportunities for public education of both natural systems and engineering design.
