Find ‘n Fix – A Collaborative Delivery of an SSES Program
August 27, 11 a.m. | Kris Samples
Kris Samples speaks on Tuesday, August 27, from 11 a.m.-11:45 a.m., during the Collection System track “Find ‘n Fix – A Collaborative Delivery of an SSES Program.” His presentation will focus on collaborative approaches to solving problems within wastewater collection systems, emphasizing the importance of teamwork and effective delivery of Sanitary Sewer Evaluation Studies (SSES) Programs. SSES programs aim to identify defects and problem areas in collection systems, leading to preventive maintenance strategies based on actual conditions which support maintaining reliable, dependable infrastructure while identifying, quantifying and removing inflow and infiltration (I&I). By utilizing a collaborative delivery approach, it ensures money invested within these programs result in action taken and provide a target approach when spending capital funds to target these issues.
Unlocking the Potential of Your WWTP: Generating Renewable Energy & Maximizing its Value
August 28, 9:15 a.m. | Jeff VanVoorhis
Jeff VanVoorhis presents on Wednesday, August 28, from 9:15 a.m.-10 a.m., during his session “Unlocking the Potential of Your WWTP: Generating Renewable Energy and Maximizing Its Value.” In his presentation, he will discuss several aspects of anaerobic digestion for wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs). These include boosting biogas production, co-digestion, and the types of waste and substrates suitable for digestion. Additionally, Jeff will explore converting biogas to renewable natural gas (RNG), combined heat and power (CHP), or compressed natural gas (CNG). He will also cover key project drivers, government funding and incentives to enhance revenue, and alternative project delivery methods that ensure cost-effective construction and implementation.
