We are excited to announce that Charles “Chuck” Huffine PE, PTOE, RSP1, AICP has joined Mead & Hunt as a Traffic Engineering and Planning Lead. Chuck brings over 35 years of experience in transportation planning, traffic, engineering, and impact analysis in both the private and public sectors. He is currently chair of the Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE) Traffic Engineering Council. His experience and location in Central Florida make him a valuable addition to our transportation team.
In his career, Chuck has worked to find sustainable and context-sensitive solutions for federal, state, local, and private clients across the country. He is skilled in on-call traffic engineering contracts, regional and corridor transportation planning, feasibility studies, NEPA/PEL studies, signal timing, traffic impact studies, and safety studies. Chuck has also conducted and managed data collection, site investigation, capacity analysis, travel forecasting, safety analysis, advanced travel modeling, cost estimates, signal design and coordination, parking evaluations, ITS, obtaining funding, environmental impact assessment, transit planning, multi-modal solution development, capital improvement plans (CIPs), preparation of transportation plans, and public involvement initiatives.
Through his experience, Chuck has gained the ability to identify diverse solutions, view and assess them in the local context, see the long-term, big-picture implications, effectively communicate the concepts and implications, and help communities and stakeholders choose the best long-term, cost-effective solutions.
Chuck brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise, and with his prime location, he is key to helping us expand our transportation services into Central Florida. We are excited to have Chuck on our team, and we are eager to see his impressive skills in action at Mead & Hunt.
