Sonya Simon leads Mead & Hunt’s legal department, serving as the firm’s legal and business advisor. With more than 25 years of experience in the A/E/C industry, Sonya oversees contract negotiations and helps uphold Mead & Hunt’s values in its business dealings. She has experience with contract negotiation, dispute/litigation management and resolution, business insurance, as well as environmental, construction, employment, and general business law. Previously certified as a hazardous materials manager and environmental auditor, she also understands a wide variety of safety regulations.

Sonya believes that performing work through an inclusive lens gives equal opportunities for each team member to feel valued and do their best. She participates in All-In Milwaukee, a coalition of education partners helping limited-income, high-potential students graduate college.

When not at work, Sonya enjoys spending time at the lake with family, training her pup Enzo to truffle-hunt, bird watching, or stargazing. She also enjoys cooking and considers recipes merely guidance documents.
