Safety inspections keep operators federally compliant
The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission requires hydroelectric projects with a license to conduct FERC Part 12 inspections to maintain the license. We have been performing Part 12 safety inspections on hydroelectric facilities since the program was established in 1967. Since then, we have performed nearly 600 safety inspections at hydroelectric projects on dams throughout the United States.
In 2003, the FERC began requiring PFMA as part of the Part 12 safety inspection and Dam Safety Performance Monitoring Programs. Since the initiation of these programs, we have supplied inspection and facilitation services for more than 70 hydroelectric projects in eleven states across the country.
