Hiring our Heroes: welcome, Mike Ellicott!

Please join me in welcoming Mike Ellicott to the Mead & Hunt team! Mike came to Mead & Hunt through the Hiring Our Heroes Corporate Fellowship Program sponsored by the US Chamber of Commerce. He was most recently the Commander of the Memphis District of the US Army Corps of Engineers and will retire from that position later this year.
The Hiring Our Heroes program provides professional training and development to transitioning service members in order to facilitate a smooth transition into meaningful civilian careers. Companies that participate gain access to exceptional candidates, while also gaining firsthand experience with the veteran job market.
The program is mutually beneficial for veterans and employers alike: companies gain access to great job candidates with real-world transferable skills, and veterans enjoy a smooth transition into rewarding, valuable careers.
Mike selected Mead & Hunt based on our firm’s culture of taking care of people and doing the right thing. These strong values directly align with Mike’s previous personal and professional values: he says, “I’m fired up about phenomenal service provided to clients and the opportunities for innovation and personal growth.”
The Hiring Our Heroes program speaks directly to our values of doing the right thing and doing what makes sense. Not only does it serve to help our service members better transition their skillset to a civilian career, but it also gives our company access to a more diverse array of skillsets and backgrounds. I know Mike will be a valuable member of our team moving forward, and I’m excited to work more closely with him in the future.
