We are excited to announce that Tim Callister has received the honor of being inducted into the Minnesota Aviation Hall of Fame. This prestigious honor speaks to Tim’s commitment to his work, the communities he has served over a long and meaningful career, as well as the aviation industry as a whole.
The Minnesota Aviation Hall of Fame seeks to recognize individuals who have contributed in a significant manner to the development, advancement and promotion of aviation in Minnesota. The honor is bestowed by the individual’s peers in the industry, which makes it all the more impactful.
Over a decades long career, Tim has repeatedly shown a strong dedication to upholding these ideals. He was first introduced to aviation at age 7, when he was able to interview a pilot on a trip from Rochester to Minneapolis. This experience spurred a lifelong love for the aviation industry.
Tim got his official start in the aviation industry flying helicopters in the army. After completing a tour in Vietnam, he returned home. There he gained many memorable experiences flying in the Minnesota Army National Guard, including performing aerial security and flying multiple search and rescue missions. He retired after 20 years, with the rank of Chief Warrant Officer 4.
After his time in the army and Air National Guard, Tim began a very successful career at the Minneapolis St. Paul Airport. He rose up the ranks, becoming a Terminal Manager, then the Manager of Reliever Airports, and finally serving as the Airport Director. All told, Tim served the airport for over 30 years.
Finally, Tim has spent the last 16 years involved in aviation project management and business development for Mead & Hunt, where he provides invaluable mentorship for newer aviation professionals on relevant industry issues. In addition, Tim’s deep involvement with the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE) has provided him with contacts and lifelong friends at airports nationwide.
Congratulations, Tim! This honor is a testament to your strong work ethic and a long career uplifting the industry and communities you serve.
