Some existing structures and facilities of the Horry County School District were at risk of significant damage due to drainage and erosion issues. We designed the drainage improvement projects and performed the construction inspection for three district schools. These upgrades have successfully improved drainage and stabilized the district properties.
When Horry County experienced a 37 percent population growth, the school system allocated funds to renovate drainage systems. Our team produced topographic maps for three district high school sites. After identifying a few crucial areas for growth, our engineers produced a topographic map of the area which was later incorporated into the site development plans.
The location of the drainage improvement projects prevented closing the areas off to teachers and students during construction. Our managers implemented safety precautions for their protection.
