Complex analysis using supplemental noise metrics
Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport operates a total of six runways and is a major air travel hub. The airport needed an update to their previous Federal Aviation Regulation Part 150 noise study, which was originally completed in 1992. We prepared the noise compatibility study update. We also developed a new noise exposure map and noise compatibility program, which included extensive public involvement through a study advisory committee. The public involvement, especially with those communities near the airport, was critical. Our team diligently worked to see that resident concerns were heard. We implemented an aggressive coordination strategy, due to a variety of other ongoing projects, so that the study and ongoing projects progressed smoothly.
