An ENR Best Projects Award is one of commercial construction’s most prestigious honors. The reception of this award is testament to the project team’s hard work and dedication to the profession.

The project comprised a year-long redevelopment of the former terminal building and adjacent office building into a new aviation business center (ABC) and two 30,000 square foot executive hangars at the Scottsdale Airport. The ABC features intuitive wayfinding, a public viewing deck of the airfield and McDowell Mountains, and a veteran’s memorial, which includes a PT-17 Stearman aircraft hanging on display in the entry plaza.

According to project manager Scot Whitney, “This needed redevelopment project was driven by the high standards and aesthetic value of the Scottsdale Airport. Our team is proud to have provided a beautiful, functional space that the public can appreciate for years to come.”

The project was featured in the November 11th issue of ENR Southwest and then celebrated during the Best Projects Awards event on November 15th in Phoenix.

Honoring these exemplary projects offers an opportunity to celebrate the hard-working teams who created them. The projects are selected by juries of prominent industry professionals. Awards are given in 20 different categories including safety, buildings, infrastructure, and green projects. Numerous facets of the work are considered including forward-thinking design and construction, and innovative solutions to tough project challenges.
