At the same time, fewer students are pursuing studies in these areas and fewer teachers are available to hone these skills. That’s why it’s so important to foster a passion for science, technology, engineering, arts and math in young kids. Mead & Hunt has always valued investing in our future AEC professionals, working to widen our talent pool, engage youth, and increase diversity in our industry.

Engaging kids early is also beneficial on an individual level. Studies show that introducing kids to STEAM subjects can improve rational thinking skills as well as social and emotional skills. Plus, as more and more jobs require these skills, providing a base for kids to build on will help them succeed in the future.

We know this is important. We will continue to work toward encouraging people to become involved in STEAM fields because STEAM is the future, not only for our firm, but for the health and well-being of our communities. I’m excited to see what our firm does next!
