This year, Mead & Hunt’s Maranda Thompson has the honor of leading the discussion on An Electric Future – Readying Airports for Electric Aircraft. Maranda has over 20 years of experience in the practice of aviation planning and manages Mead & Hunt’s west coast planning practice. With a background in Urban Planning, Maranda has developed specialized expertise in airport land use compatibility planning in California and has an excellent understanding of the federal, state, regional, and local planning framework. Maranda leads Mead & Hunt’s Airport Electrification and AAM initiative to help airports and their host communities prepare and plan for new electric aircraft entrants. Under ACRP Project 11-02/43, Successful Community Inclusion in Advanced Air Mobility, Maranda and her research team are developing a primer for the coordination and integration of AAM among airports, communities, and other agency stakeholders.
