Universal Design Best Practices Learned From Airports
June 10 | 10-11 a.m. PT | Presented by Marc Godzina, Senior Project Architect
When designing the built environment, we are familiar with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), its requirements on our facilities, and the importance of ADA compliance. However, as spaces become increasingly experience-based, designers should strive to exceed the bare minimum and push toward universal design to create a more inclusive experience.
Marc Godzina will apply his experience designing the new Fort Wayne International Airport terminal to demonstrate how designers should look at universal design fundamentals and how airports have implemented them. Attendees leave with a greater understanding of the basic principles of universal design and different solutions that can be applied to multiple other building types.
Marc looks forward to meeting you at AIA Conference 2023!
