Innovative design for space efficiency
Rochester International Airport needed to relieve aircraft congestion to better handle arriving international flights. We planned and designed the Rochester US Customs Enhanced/Modified FIS Facility to help them overcome this issue. This facility allows passengers to claim their baggage before entering the primary screening area to save space. The project referenced the US Department of Homeland Security’s Customs and Border Protection “Airport Technical Design Standards.” We also designed it to meet the unique needs of those traveling to medical facilities like the Mayo Clinic. In addition, the facility can process up to 75 passengers when large aircraft arrive.
