Bridge partnership program increases traveler safety
The Ohio Department of Transportation established the Ohio Bridge Partnership Program, a construction initiative to reduce the number of deficient county bridges in the state. Our bridge and hydraulic engineers are working with five ODOT District Offices, 19 County Engineers and various local municipalities to assist in replacing more than 58 deteriorating bridges statewide.
As part of the program, our team is responsible for preliminary design, hydraulic analysis, design exceptions, environmental documentation, right-of-way design, preparation of design-build scope documents and preparation of construction cost estimates. The structure types studied have included precast concrete culverts, single span steel beams, single span concrete beams, single span concrete slabs, continuous span steel beams, multi-span concrete beams, continuous span concrete slabs and steel truss superstructures.
